Touring St. John's, Newfoundland

At Signal Hill

During their visit, thanks to the warm hospitality of Roger Whalen, the Cantors were given a chance to see what a beautiful place St. John's is. We had a clear day at the top of Signal Hill! Bill, Angus, David and Peter pose for a picture overlooking the city of St. John's.

A View of Signal Hill from the Harbour

Look up Signal Hill from the harbour, and you see the neighbourhood called "The Battery", famous also because it has the first postal code of Canada:
A1A 1A1!

St. John's Harbour

From up the hill looking inland, one can appreciate why St. John's is located where it is... it's a natural harbour better than any human engineer could ever have designed!

The lighthouse at the harbour entrance has been a welcome sight to maritime traffic for generations.
